Biography

Dr. Jenn Shiomi (塩見) Chen is a 3.5 generation Japanese-American who has a heart for Japan. Jenn was previously licensed as a clinical psychologist in 2002 after earning a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She was formally trained in cutting-edge practices in psychology and held a faculty appointment as a clinical instructor for the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Midway through her Psychologist career, Jenn ended up receiving biblical counseling, after which she returned to school for a master's in Biblical Counseling. She has taught at seminaries, universities, and conferences in biblical counseling, has been featured in biblical counseling training videos, and recently published Biblical Counseling and Mental Disorders. She cherishes her best friend and husband, Peter, as well as their adult son Garret. Jenn is deeply grateful for how biblical counseling pointed her to the Triune Redeemer, transforming her faith, her life, and her counsel.
